What We Believe
Our Statement of Faith defines foundational doctrine. “What We Believe” explains how those convictions shape the life of our church.

We believe the Word must be lived.

Biblical teaching should lead to repentance, wisdom, changed relationships, disciplined choices, service, and Christlike character.

We believe people can be transformed.

No one is beyond the reach of God’s grace. We expect salvation, healing, freedom, restoration, maturity, and renewed purpose through Jesus Christ.

We believe healing should be safe and responsible.

Prayer ministry must honor consent, confidentiality, boundaries, dignity, and appropriate referral. Spiritual ministry should never replace necessary medical, mental-health, legal, or protective intervention.

We believe deliverance should follow biblical order.

Deliverance ministry is centered on the authority of Jesus Christ, repentance, forgiveness, truth, discipleship, and ongoing wholeness - not fear, sensationalism, humiliation, or dependence upon a minister.

We believe gifts and character belong together.

Spiritual gifting is not a substitute for humility, integrity, teachability, faithfulness, emotional maturity, or accountability.

We believe every believer is called to grow and serve.

Membership is more than attendance. Disciples are invited to learn, pray, give, serve, build relationships, use their gifts, and participate in the mission of the church.

We believe the generations need one another.

Children and youth are not merely the church of tomorrow; they are part of the church today. Mature believers carry wisdom, younger believers carry fresh strength, and all generations should learn to honor and serve together.

We believe leadership is stewardship.

Authority belongs to Christ. Church leaders are entrusted with responsibility to feed, guide, protect, equip, and serve people under biblical and organizational accountability.

We believe compassion must become action.

The gospel calls us to care for spiritual and practical needs through outreach, benevolence, hospitality, generosity, advocacy, and service.

Mission

The mission of The Living Word is to lead people into a living relationship with Jesus Christ, establish them in biblical truth, nurture healing and spiritual maturity, equip them for purpose and ministry, and send them to serve their families, church, community, and world with the love and power of God.

Vision

Our vision is to become a healthy, multi-generational, Spirit-led apostolic church where the Word comes alive, lives are transformed, families are strengthened, leaders are developed, and disciples are equipped to advance the Kingdom of God with truth, love, integrity, and power.

Core Values

The Word of God

Scripture is our final authority for faith, doctrine, character, and practice. We seek not only to know the Word, but to obey it and allow it to shape every area of life.   2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; James 1:22

The Presence of God

We value sincere worship, prayer, reverence, and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. We make room for God to speak, heal, convict, restore, and transform.   John 4:23-24; 2 Corinthians 3:17-18

Jesus-Centered Ministry

Jesus Christ is the foundation, focus, and message of the church. Ministry is never about personalities, platforms, titles, or control; it is about making Christ known and forming people in His likeness.   Colossians 1:15-20; 1 Corinthians 3:11

Love and Honor

We treat people with dignity, compassion, patience, and respect. Honor does not eliminate truth or accountability; it determines the spirit in which truth is spoken and correction is given.  John 13:34-35; Romans 12:10; Ephesians 4:15

Healing and Wholeness

We believe God cares about the whole person. We create space for spiritual, emotional, relational, and practical healing while encouraging responsible pastoral care, appropriate professional support, and safe ministry practices.  Psalm 147:3; Luke 4:18; James 5:14-16

Discipleship and Maturity

We are committed to helping believers move from attendance to transformation, from information to obedience, and from gifting to character.  Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 4:11-16

Integrity and Accountability

We pursue honesty, moral courage, financial stewardship, ethical leadership, transparency, and meaningful accountability. No person is above biblical standards or organizational safeguards.  Proverbs 10:9; 2 Corinthians 8:20-21; 1 Timothy 3:1-13

Apostolic Order and Kingdom Purpose

We honor the biblical function of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, and we believe every believer has a place in the Body. Spiritual authority must be exercised through service, humility, order, and accountability.  Ephesians 4:11-16; 1 Corinthians 12:12-27; Mark 10:42-45

Family and Generations

We value children, youth, adults, marriages, seniors, and spiritual families. We intentionally make room for each generation to worship, learn, serve, and lead appropriately.  Psalm 145:4; Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Joel 2:28

Outreach and Compassion

We carry the love of Christ beyond the walls of the church through service, generosity, evangelism, benevolence, and practical care for people in need.  Matthew 25:35-40; Romans 12:10-13; James 2:14-17

Excellence and Stewardship

We steward time, finances, property, technology, communication, gifts, and opportunities with care. Excellence is not perfectionism; it is faithful preparation that honors God and serves people well.  Colossians 3:23-24; 1 Corinthians 4:2

Unity in Diversity

We seek Spirit-formed unity across generations, backgrounds, experiences, and callings. Unity is not sameness; it is shared submission to Christ, biblical truth, and the mission of the church.  Ephesians 4:1-6; Revelation 7:9-10
